Downward Spiral....

If you are new to this blog, welcome!!  The purpose of this blog is to keep my readers updated as I try to replicate the Chris Ferguson Bankroll Challenge.  I started with $50 and my goal is to build it up to $10,000.  I must follow some basic guidelines as far as percentage of my bankroll that I can risk in any given game.  These rules are outlined in a previous post.
My losing streak continues.  Last night, I tried multitabling, which proved to be a bad move.  I lost several buy ins.  I also failed to cash in any tournaments the last couple of days.  I did finish  in 295th place out of 1100 in "The Ferguson" tournament.  Only 180 players were paid in that tournament, but it is my deepest finish yet. I know that if I keep pounding away at this tournament that I will be able to finish at the final table.
My bankroll is now at $54.97.  I have lost almost $30 in the last week.
I have been working on a squeeze play that has served me well several times.  When there are several late position limpers and I am in SB or BB, I am often able to make a large bet (6-8 times the BB) and take down the pot.  My logic behind this is that none of the late position limpers is very strong.  They did limp after all.    This has been most effective after the blinds reach 50/100.  You must proceed with caution, however, if you get any callers.  You are out of position and you have just built a sizeable pot.   I have made this play many times and have only been called a couple of times.
I have also been able to resteal a few pots from the SB when the cutoff or button raises to steal the blinds.  I have found that with the bankroll rules in place, I am better able to make these kinds of plays, because the downside is not a large percentage of my bankroll.
Hopefully, with focus and good decision making, my slump will end soon.
